NOLA braces for new hurricane threat

Gustav is off the coast of Jamaica right now and New Orleans residents are packing up and heading to East Texas in droves. All the hotels rooms are booked in my area of Texas but thankfully Ashlyn, her husband and my grandbabies have their own room here at my house and plan to use it. They live in Metairie, LA and don’t trust the levee systems in the area whether rebuilt or not.

Of course, they are small “l” libertarians and know that they are responsible for the safety of their children. And, as grandmother of the most loving babies in the world, I am happy that they get it. Some of my most favored memories of family time were during evacuations such as this and I will try to give them the same as PopPop and I spoil them rotten when they are here.
