Thought I tied up the loose ends and found a few more

You guys know that I moved to Small Town, USA happily and freely, but I didn’t realize that I’d miss any people from my old ‘hood so soon.

I’m finally at my new home in Longview, TX after getting my Richardson home cleaned out. I’ve not left behind a single memory of 3216 Summerfield Drive even though I did leave some people behind. Little Bit is a person left behind- she needs to finish her semester but dammit if I’m not just a wee bit worried for her. The doc and I have many friends in Dallas and I’m worried that I’m too old and set in my ways to find people here who would tolerate me long enough to know me enough to spend more than one uncomfortable evening. I found out that the “cranky bitch” across the street from my old house is probably my sister.

Unfortunately, we realize what we have when it’s gone from our everyday lives. I’d like to think that I’m lucky-I know that there will be a part missing from my heart before most. I’m unlucky because I’ll recognize the pain earlier.

Fuck Catch 22s.
