You’d be fired from your cubicle job for less

On Friday, Rudy Giuliani interrupted a speech to the NRA with a personal call from his wife. I guess he’s pulling out all the stops to distract people from his original position on gun control. You might remember that the city of New York filed a lawsuit against gun manufacturers for producing more guns than necessary for the legitimate purposes of hunting and law enforcement.

Magicians use sleight of hand for their livelihoods. It involves psychology and misdirection; essentially the viewer is encouraged to pay attention to something other than the trick. Rudy must have paid attention to some of those street performers he had arrested during his terms as mayor. This telephone call from the Missus is sort of the same.

Giuliani, by dodging questions and attempting to use psychology and misdirection, has demonstrated only that he would make a great magician. His willingness to exploit, for personal gain, the tragedy of 9/11, his ass backward view on the importance of civil liberties, and general sliminess should be enough to keep him out of the White House. Besides, can you imagine this sort of callow behavior in the middle of a high level cabinet meeting? I can see it now, “Can you hold that thought? I’ve an incoming call from the wife.”

Presidential indeed. LOL I say we send him to ply his trade on the same New York streets that he attempted to sanitize.
